Art

Here at Tri-Cities Christian we strive to teach students that the definition of Art, is the artistic creation of something that will glorify the father. Going even further, the students will be reminded that just as we are called to pick up our cross and follow Christ, we are called to BE like him too. This includes creating just as the father does. Art will be offered at the elementary, middle, and high school level. High school is divided into two portions, Art 1 and 2. Students will learn the foundational elements of art, such as Line, Value, Perspective, Design, Color, Shape, and texture. In this process they will be working in various mediums such as, charcoal, ink, oil painting, clay, acrylics, fibers, and so much more!

Band

The Tri-Cities Christian Academy Band will begin this Fall 2025 with all TCA students in 5th-8th grade, plus any high school students who want to join. Students will work with the band directors in selecting an instrument at the start of the year and plan to perform a few concerts. We are thrilled to launch our new band program with approximately 150 students and look forward to an exciting year of music and growth.

Studying instrumental music in a group setting allows students to have fun while learning a beautiful art form and developing essential life skills such as perseverance, courage, empathy, dependability, and time management. Participation in band also fosters a strong sense of belonging and camaraderie, which contributes to greater success in both school and life.

From a Christian perspective, music is a gift from God and a powerful means of worship and expression. Through the study and performance of music, students can grow in their appreciation of beauty, discipline, and teamwork—developing their God-given talents for His glory. As students play and create music together, they not only sharpen important skills but also experience the joy of using their gifts in community.

We envision the TCA Band becoming one of the region’s premier musical organizations for students. Over time, the program will grow to include leveled ensembles for both beginning and experienced middle school students, as well as a high school band.

Theater

The Theater Arts Department at TCA strives to encourage our students to discover and use their talents in the areas of theater and production.  We offer several classes in theater and performance and produce a school production each year in the Spring.

Intro to Theater is an overview of all the aspects of theater such as, acting, stage design, costume and makeup design, lighting, and sound.

Theater focuses on the personal aspects of theater with projects and collective activities in acting, and costume and make up design.

Dramatic Productions has weekly projects that include the the following: research development, scale drawings, prop construction, directing a scene, developing a character, story boards, lighting plots and many other hands-on projects.  The Dramatic Production students also help prepare for the school production.

The culmination of all the theater classes is the school production.  The entire 6th – 12th grade is invited to participate in auditions for the productions at TCA.  All lighting, sound, costuming, scenic design, and backstage work is accomplished by the high school students under the supervision of Mrs. Lynn Kain.  Our goal is to honor and glorify the Lord by working together to accomplish a goal that is often higher than the students ever thought possible to achieve.

“And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men.” Colossians 3:23 NKJV

Music

The purpose of the music program at Tri-Cities Christian Academy is to help students develop a deeper appreciation of music and to encourage them to use their musical gifts to glorify God in worship. Students in Pre-K and Kindergarten attend one music class each week, while grades 1 through 5 attend two classes per week. During these instructional times students learn the fundamentals of singing, elements of music theory, and how to play and sing as an ensemble. Additionally, a portion of each class is devoted to learning and singing praise and worship songs in preparation for the weekly chapel services.
