Lakeway Christian Schools Update
We are excited to announce the addition of Tri-Cities Christian Schools to the Lakeway Christian Schools family. Located in Blountville, TN, Tri-Cities Christian Schools has been providing a Christ-centered education with a biblical worldview since 1973. They reached out to us for help in continuing their mission of bringing Christian education opportunities to the Tri-Cities area.
The school will come under the umbrella of the Lakeway Christian Schools Board along with their administration and faculty. We look forward to the years ahead as we join with our brothers and sisters at Tri-Cities Christian School to partner with families to provide a Christ-centered and academically challenging education, equipping students with a biblical worldview and a heart for Christ, that they may grow in wisdom, stature and in favor with God and man.
There will be no changes to the day to day operations of Cornerstone Christian Academy or Lakeway Christian Academy. We simply want to share how God continues to open doors to impact our culture for His glory. More information will come in the weeks ahead!
Other important System Wide Information:
EXTENDED - 100th Day of School - Community Service Collection Drive
We have collected a total of 29,939 items throughout all of Lakeway Christian Schools this week. So that everyone has the chance to participate, we have decided to extend our collection through TUESDAY, January 28! Thank you for giving to help serve and feed families in need in our area.
Details: In celebration of the upcoming 100th day of school, both Cornerstone Christian Academy and Lakeway Christian Academy will be participating in a community service collection project. This year we will be collecting paper products for Daily Bread Community Kitchen – a local ministry serving meals to individuals and families in need.
The following items have been requested by The Daily Bread:
- Paper Towels
- Plastic forks
- Plastic knives
- Plastic spoons
- Styrofoam cups
- Small paper plates (used to serve dessert)
GOAL FOR 100 DAY DRIVE: As an added motivation, if LCS collects a total of 100,000 items, both Mr. Ezell and Mr. McVicker agreed to have their beards shaved at our Homecoming Spirit Week pep rally on February 14th.
(count each individual item. For example, if a student brings a package of 500 napkins and a box of 50 spoons, the item count would be 550.)
There are 2 ways you can contribute to this goal.
- You can purchase and bring sealed packages and place in collection bins in the hallways
- You can bring money to place in a collection jar also located outside Mr. Ezell’s office. A member of the Christian Life department will take all collected monies to purchase items.

Spirit Wear - Preorder Deadline TODAY (1/26)!
Star Quest Musical
Auditions - Monday, February 3 (3:25 p.m. - 4:45 p.m.) in the CCA Chapel
Auditions for either a vocal solo or acting/speaking role. Each student will be free to leave after their individual audition. Parents are welcome to wait in the atrium or if a ride is not available, the student will go to after care until you arrive to pick them up. Students have been given music and/or a scene to prepare.
Rehearsals - Monday afternoons starting February 10 (3:30 p.m. - 4:15 p.m.)
Students who audition AND receive an acting role will start rehearsals on Feb. 10. These rehearsals will be led by Mr. Morelock who is the Lakeway Theatre teacher. If your students cannot attend these rehearsals, they shouldn’t audition. Acceptance of their role will indicate their intention to faithfully attend weekly rehearsals. Since we’re performing off campus, we’ll take a field trip to rehearse in the space.
Soloists - Soloists will rehearse with Mr. Deitch at 7:30 a.m. on a day scheduled with
each specific soloist. They will be arranged on a convenient morning for each family.
Performance - Thursday, May 14, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Dandridge - part of our 2020 Fine Arts Festival! Please mark your calendar and plan to attend!
For all fine arts news / important dates - visit our CCA Fine Arts Page!
Agape Day - February 14
At CCA, we call "Valentine's Day" Agape Day for God's love. We celebrate God's love for us and the commandment to love each other as ourselves. Cornerstone’s Family Association has organized an online order form for friends and family to purchase handmade cards ($1 each) and donuts ($2 each) for students. The deadline for ordering will be Friday, February 7.
Q&U Wedding - February 14
Also on Agape Day, CCA will be hosting the "Q & U" Wedding. This is a silly mock wedding ceremony between the letters Q and U (because they are always together in words!). Kindergarten students will participate in this ceremony while other CCA students will be able to attend and enjoy. Kindergarten students should plan to dress in their "Sunday best" and may change into spirit wear clothes following the ceremony. Parents are welcome to attend! The Wedding and Reception will take place in the Cafe from 8:15-9:15 a.m.
Biography Fair (Grades 2-5, March 6)
One of the highlights at Cornerstone is the annual Biography Fair! More information on this event will be coming home from teachers, but we wanted to be sure all 2nd - 5th grade families marked their calendars for this special event: Friday, March 6.
PreK - 1st grade students will be able to enjoy the presentations and learn from their fellow students.
January 28 - 29, 3:30-5:30 p.m. (CCA Cafe)
LCA students in grades 6-12 are welcome to audition. The play is a high energy and imaginative comedy with a large cast. Auditions will consist of a “cold read” of a scene from the script. No preparation is required.

2020-2021 FACTS Grant & Aid
We are committed to making the educational experience at Lakeway Christian Schools affordable and accessible. We have moved to FACTS Grant & Aid in an effort to fine tune the financial algorithm to be as generous as possible. We encourage all families to submit your financial information but please do not expect an initial response until after Feb. 1.
To more efficiently serve our families, we are now using a continuous enrollment program. This program confirms your commitment to having your student continually enrolled at Lakeway Christian Schools and eliminates the need to re-enroll each year. This agreement applies to the 2020-2021 academic year and shall automatically renew for each successive academy year, until your student graduates from LCA or until you notify us otherwise. An annual enrollment fee will be automatically billed to your account in two installments. If you choose to terminate this agreement, your written notice must be received on or before January 31 of the current academic year to avoid all financial penalties.

Do you have family and friends that would love to be a part of Lakeway Christian Schools? Now is a great time to invite them to find out more. They can contact us for a presonal tour (email@example.com) and to learn more about the admissions process.
