ROARathon 2020

On Saturday, May 2nd, we will be hosting the 2020 ROARathon 5K in White Pine. The original 5K, known as the Warathon, began in 2009 as an idea from our high school students. Each year students, staff, parents, other family members, and runners from around the area participate in this event, creating a time of fun and fellowship in our community!

There are a variety of ways to participate in this year's event:

  • 5K Runner / Walker
  • Cubs Fun Run Participant
  • "Snoozing but Supporting"
  • Sponsor
  • Volunteer

Sponsorship levels vary from $250- $3000, and also include opportunities to offer prize donations for our participants. Several businesses around the community donate gift cards or coupons to their place of business. All donations are greatly appreciated as proceeds from this event will be used to further enhance our academics, arts and athletics programs.

In order to make this year's event a success we need your help.

Substitute teachers are an integral part of the student learning process. Responsible, compassionate, dedicated individuals who are enthusiastic about teaching and learning are encouraged to substitute teach at Lakeway Christian Schools.

We are also looking for After Care teachers to help supervise and engage students who remain on campus from 2:30 - 5:30 p.m., Monday - Friday.

  • As we move into another week of Distance Learning at CCA, our classes will be utilizing a few new technology tools to enhance learning (Zoom, Seesaw). Our teachers communicated details at the end of last week and most classes did a test run. As always, if you have questions, contact your classroom teacher.

  • Teachers will be posting a "Question of the Day." The response to this question counts as attendance for the day.

  • During this unique distance learning experience the continuation of education is our top priority. In order to facilitate this in the most effective way, we are focusing on the subject areas of Bible, Reading and Math. Teachers will provide lessons and practice assignments in these areas. These assignments should be treated like the schoolwork that would be accomplished on any school day. Participation and completion of this material is expected in order to maintain forward progress toward the next grade level. Teachers will also provide enrichment opportunities in other areas of instruction. These assignments will be considered optional.

Flag Football - Postponed
