The theme for Cornerstone Chapel this year is “Under Construction” based upon Ephesians 3:17b-19. We are in the middle of Paul’s second prayer for the Ephesians. The first part, he prays that our lives would be built on Christ’s dwelling in our hearts through faith. The next step is that we will be rooted and grounded in love. With that foundation, Paul prays that we will be able to understand with the saints the infinite dimensions of the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge.
With our minds focused all year on the infinite and overwhelming love of Christ, we will have fun sub-themes to help us to learn how to make choices and decisions pleasing to God and why we do them. We will be ending our first bible study series, “Bible Bricks”, this week. “Bible Bricks” uses the fun we have in building LEGOS and helps us understand that following God is not just a one-time event. As we follow Christ and learn from Him, we are BUILT UP into strong boys and girls of faith.
On September 11 we will begin a new series, “Bible Treasure Hunt”. Who doesn’t love a good treasure hunt? We will learn that the greatest treasure we can ever unearth is what comes from seeking God and his kingdom. The students will continue to lead our worship time together through song and drama skit presentations.
It has been my greatest joy and honor to be a part of Cornerstone Academy this year. CA families are the best and each week your children bring encouragement not only to me but to all who witness their sincere worship of the Heavenly Father. I encourage you to attend Cornerstone Chapel every Wednesday morning from 9:15-9:45. The year will continue with additional Bible Study series including: “Say Thank You Very Much”, Finding Christmas Under the Sea”, “The Non-Avengers”, “eStir”, and concluding the school year with “Victory”. Thank You for your unending encouragement and support. To God be the Glory!
