Lakeway Christian Academy Announces New Athletic Director and Coaches

White Pine, TN – Lakeway Christian Academy has announced Nate Hoffmeister as Athletic Director, in addition Kevin Day and Jordan Noe will be joining the athletic coaching staff.

Nate Hoffmeister has 12 years of experience with high school student athletes and supporting their head coaches in state championship caliber programs. With an emphasis on power, strength, speed, agility, and quickness. Hoffmeister has proven methods to implement programs for athletes across all sports to increase lateral, linear, and vertical agility and enhance automatic, explosive, and precise power. Hoffmeister spent six years at Christian Academy of Knoxville and was instrumental in 17 state championships, three Mr. Football recipients, the HS All-Time Leading receiver in the nation, All-American and AJGA Tour Golfer and more. Hoffmeister then served as Head Strength Coach / PE Teacher for Grace Christian Academy where he was part of similar success. He over the last year served as the Strength and Conditioning Coach and Interim Athletic Director for Lakeway Christian Academy. Hoffmeister attends Northstar Church in Knoxville, Tennessee and serves as volunteer campus pastor at Morgan County Correctional Facility. Hoffmeister has a kinesiology degree from Lincoln Memorial University and a Master’s in Sports Management from Liberty University. 

With the promotion of Hoffmeister, Kevin Day joins Lakeway’s Athletic program as the Strength and Conditioning Coach. Day is a certified National Strength and Conditioning Association coach with a CrossFit Level 1 certification. Day has spent the last 9 years in athletics serving as a strength coach at Knoxville West High School (2013-2014), head of Athletic Performance for Cleveland City Schools (2015-2016), and most recently as the Offensive Line Coach at Carson-Newman (2017-2021). He attends Arrowhead Church in Morristown, Tennessee. Day has an undergraduate degree in history with a minor in education from Carson-Newman University.

Jordan Noe joins the Lakeway Athletic program as Cross-Country Head Coach. Noe comes with a titled background in Cross Country from his years at King University. While at King University he was a Conference Carolinas Champion (2012), 3-time All-Conference awardee (2011, 2012, 2013), 3-time NCAA All-Region Southeast awardee (2011, 2012, 2013), and 2-time NCAA National qualifier (2012, 2013). He attends The Avenue in Morristown, Tennessee. Noe has an undergraduate degree in business marketing and Master of Business Administration from King University.

Lakeway Christian Schools Announces New Director of Student Services Role

Morristown, TN – Lakeway Christian Schools has announced the creation of a system-wide role and promotion of Alani Staples to Director of Student Services. The Director of Students Services will oversee the process of admissions to graduation and beyond.   

­Staples has worked in youth services for 17 years. During this time, she has served in several capacities, including outreach program director, clinical supervisor, and school counseling director. Staples received her undergraduate degree from University of Richmond, and her Master of Education in School Counseling from Liberty University. Her professional experience has allowed her to celebrate the joy of witnessing youth discover their full potential, specifically as it relates to academic success, overcoming hardships, developing healthy relational skills, and achieving their post-secondary goals.

As Director of Student Services, Staples will oversee the areas of admissions, social & emotional support, academic support, and college and career planning. She will work with a team of talented coordinators and directors as she brings a focus to the student’s entire interaction with the school from interest in attending the school to being a successful student to graduating with a plan for their future. Staples will work with the leadership teams of all three schools in the system, Cornerstone Christian Academy, Lakeway Christian Academy, and Tri-Cities Christian Academy.

Lakeway Christian Schools Announces New Director of Communications

Morristown, TN – Lakeway Christian Schools has announced that Anthony Burns will serve as its new Director of Communications. Burns has served as the LCS Creative Director and faculty member at Lakeway Christian Academy since August 2020.

Burns has more than 18 years of ministry experience, and has served as a local pastor and producer for Christian concerts, events, and conferences. Before coming to Lakeway Christian Schools, he served as the Executive Director of Marketing for Chick-fil-A West Knoxville. Burns is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and management. He also attended Asbury Theological Seminary, where he studied for his Master of Divinity, with a focus in church planting and leadership.

As communications director, Burns will manage communications, marketing, and public relations for Cornerstone Christian Academy and Lakeway Christian Academy. He joins the administration of Lakeway Christian Schools and will work closely with the Head of Schools.
