Dear Cornerstone and Lakeway families,
It is with great anticipation that we prepare to transition to Lakeway Christian Academy's new campus. Unfortunately, I must inform you that the new campus will not be ready for occupancy at the start of second semester. We are disappointed, though not particularly surprised.
While much progress has been made in recent weeks, clearly there is still much yet to do. Construction and logistical delays have continued to thwart our hopes at moving the 6-12 grades over in January. Our contractor has expressed their regrets on the matter and have assured us they will press on to complete the project as soon as possible. While the future cannot yet be seen, we don’t anticipate the delay to be extraordinarily long.
Obviously, it would be in the best interest for all that the project be completed in a timely yet suitable fashion. We don’t want to carelessly rush ahead and be forced to live with mistakes for years to come. At the same time, we are striving daily to finish this project for the glory of God.
I am grateful for the incredible job our staff and faculty do daily to make our current situation work. I am also deeply thankful for your patience and prayers as we seek to provide the facilities and culture for your children to receive an exceptional Christian education. Most of all I am compelled to bow my desires before our sovereign Lord, in recognition that His timing is always perfect.
When my children were small, my wife and I would sing this chorus with them at bedtime: “In His time, in His time; He makes all things beautiful in his time. Lord please show me every day as you're teaching me your way that you do just what you say, In your time.” I am confident He will make this venture beautiful in His time, as well. We will keep you informed as soon as we know a firm date.
Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. Psalm 27:14

Construction Update (June 20, 2019)
Dear Lakeway Families -
C.S. Lewis once wrote of the need “to stop regarding all the unpleasant things as interruptions of one’s ‘own’, or ‘real’ life. The truth is of course that what one calls the interruptions are precisely one’s real life – the life God is sending one day by day: what one calls one’s ‘real life’ is a phantom of one’s own imagination.”
The point Lewis was making in part was that when we submitted to Him as Lord we no longer remained in charge of “one's 'own,' or 'real' life”. The so-called interruptions God sends our way day by day are nothing more than opportunities to hear and to act.
This correspondence is to inform you of an interruption to our plans regarding the new Lakeway Christian Academy facility opening the day after Labor Day. For a variety of reasons including weather, logistical delays, and other unforeseen issues the project has fallen behind schedule by several weeks. Our contractor has informed us that it is no longer a viable possibility to have the buildings ready for occupancy on September 3.
Therefore, the Board has asked that I communicate to our Lakeway Christian Schools family a few of the necessary changes in response to this development:
1. Both Cornerstone and Lakeway will remain on the same campus until the new building is ready.
We are unsure regarding the exact time necessary to complete this task. It could be as little as 4 weeks but certainly no longer than the end of the first semester. Whatever transpires, we plan to move LCA to the new campus as soon as feasibly possible.
2. Cornerstone will begin classes as planned on August 12th. Lakeway will start school on August 19th.
From an academic perspective, there is no reason to delay the start of LCA as we had originally planned. That decision was made under the premise the new facility would be completed in time to start the day after Labor Day. With that no longer being a possibility, the board felt there was no need for Lakeway to have a late start. August 19th was selected due to teacher in-service plans for LCA, as well as giving Cornerstone a week in which to settle before the older children arrive. If you have already made vacation plans that conflict with the new start date, please let us know. We will work with you to see that your child is not unfairly affected by the necessary changes.
3. Both Cornerstone and Lakeway will be off October 14-18 for Fall Break.
This a return to the normal week off for Lakeway Academy students. The Cornerstone students are also off this week as originally planned.
The Board and the administration will do everything possible to minimize the inconvenience caused by this development. We ask for your prayers and understanding in this regard.
LCA parents should receive a phone call in the next few days from someone at the school, as a follow up to answer any questions you may have.
I hope this correspondence provides you with sufficient information. When we complete this project, I believe you will agree the journey has been worth all the “interruptions”. In the meantime, let me encourage you to trust His purposes. They are greater than any agenda that we might design for ourselves or for the world. Trust that His way is right and best. And most of all, trust that He will provide for all our needs. Jesus never calls us to follow him without supplying what we need for the journey.
And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19

In Christ, We Build.
From the initial groundbreaking of Lakeway Christian Academy to the last brick we lay on the school building, we pray that in all that we do, we will honor and glorify God as we physically see a Christian school being raised up, and as we prepare to point students to the cornerstone, Jesus Christ. We pray in every effort, we build a place where the Holy Spirit will reside in the hearts of our students, because we believe that in all things, whether a physical school building or in the hearts of our students and staff, in Christ, We Rise!
Lakeway Christian Academy will be built with excellence and feature:
200,000 square foot building with central commons, two stories tall, opening to large front lawn
1,200 seat performing arts center
2,000 seat football stadium
Eight lane track and field area
Indoor practice facility with 40-yard field
Competition and auxiliary gymnasiums
