Communication is Essential ...

As parents, students and staff members, the way we communicate is vital to the success of our organization. Our goal at Lakeway Christian Schools is to communicate effectively and efficiently! One step in that process is to introduce an inclusive and easy to find calendar. So, we hope that you find the following details helpful:

  • All Lakeway Christian School events, Lakeway Christian Academy and Cornerstone Academy events will be on one calendar.
  • LCS events are grey; LCA events are blue; CA events are red.
  • The all-inclusive calendar will be linked to the website.  Find it in the blue banner across the top of the homepage!
  • School day and extracurricular events will be added to this calendar to include practices and rehearsals.
  • Once you locate the calendar, you may “subscribe” to it and select the appropriate calendar feed for your personal device.
  • The calendar will update to your personal calendar/device as events are added or updated.
  • We are adding a new athletic website.  The url is www.LakewayLions.org.  It is linked to the school site.
  • The athletic site will include game schedules and pertinent information for the athletic department and each sport.
  • Game schedules are printable from the athletic site, but ALL events will be merged in to the school calendar so you don’t miss anything!  The school calendar should always be the most accurate place to see everything going on within LCS.
  • You will also find information pertaining to the arts linked to the website.  ALL events will be added to the school calendar.

We are excited to announce the launching of a new athletic website and hope you’ll find the school website including academics, arts, and athletics to be very insightful.  The calendar for all school and system events should be helpful as well.

Please note: As we switch over to the 2019-20 school year (in just over a month) on the website, we will add more information.

So, check out the new calendar at www.lcstn.org and visit the new athletics site (www.LakewayLions.org) along with the arts information to see everything taking place!  Like always, tell your friends and encourage them to consider Lakeway for a total educational experience.

Testing Week

It is that time of year again! On Tuesday, April 23,  we will be administering the TerraNova Test to grades, K- 9.

  • 7th and 8th grade will be testing through Friday
  • All other grades will be testing through Thursday
  • 10th grade will be taking the Pre-Act on Tuesday and Wednesday

Encourage your students to:

  • Get plenty of rest and eat a good nutritious breakfast!  Brain health is enhanced by a good night's sleep; that matters a great deal.
  • Bring healthy snacks from home to eat between testing sessions. (Cornerstone families should check with their classroom teachers in case they have alternate snack arrangements planned.)
  • Arrive at school on time! The test begins first thing in the morning.

It's Race Week!

The 2019 ROARathon is Saturday, April 27.

If you haven't registered to participate yet, there's still time.

Spirit Wear

As you know, Fridays are Spirit Wear Days at Lakeway Christian Schools. We want to clarify that dress code to include the last day of each week, meaning that when a Holiday results in no school on Fridays, students are permitted to dress in Spirit Wear on the last day of the school week. Students are always welcome to wear their regular school uniform on these days. Otherwise, Spirit Wear dress code is permitted, including jeans, and LCA / CA branded and approved t-shirts, sweatshirts, or jackets.

Another note about spirit wear, we have some items that we would like to offer for online purchase. Click here for an online order form. Orders will be processed and apparel will be packaged and sent home with your student.

Lakeway News

MS Prep Meeting:

All parents of rising 6th graders are invited to attend a meeting to prepare for Middle School at Lakeway next year on April 30 at 6:30 p.m. This will be a great opportunity to talk about what to expect at Lakeway and how to select elective classes. All parents are encouraged to attend!

Chapel Friday - Join Us!

Lakeway Parents - We would love to have you join us this Friday, April 26th at 10:00 a.m. for a special chapel assembly with Mr. Steve Paysen.  As a part of Lakeway Area Go Tell Crusade, Steve will have the privilege of sharing a message about life choices, peer pressure, and self-worth with students in several Lakeway area schools.  Please be in prayer asking God the Spirit to change lives through the truth of the Scriptures as it is shared. For more information about the Lakeway Area Go Tell Crusade, click here to visit their website.

The Hunt - Volunteers Needed!

“The Hunt” (formerly known as “Warrior Wars”) is planned for May 10 (8 a.m. - 3 p.m.) and will feature teams of students (mixed grades 6-12) competing against each other in a variety of events. In order for this to be a great day for all of our students, we need a few parent volunteers to coordinate the details of each station and lunch. Contact Mr. Ezell if you are willing and able to help!
